San Fransisco International Airport

A long wait.....

After a six plus hour wait, we finally saw our plane arrive and we headed off to Beijing.
As we entered the airport we saw a few familiar things:
The flight into Beijing was VERY long!! We were all so relieved to arrive.
We were surprised at how cold it was....in the low forties!
It was about an hour drive to the hotel. We all settled in for the night and were excited at the plans to visit the Confucius Institute Headquarters and the Great Wall. Before we boarded "bus 3" in the morning, we had breakfast with all the other delegates from AROUND THE WORLD! We were delighted to meet students and teachers from many nations including: Japan, Germany, Sweden, Netherlands, Laos, Austria, Australia, Ireland and many others. We had some comunication challenges since nearly everyone is a second language learner in Mandarin (and some have higher skills than others). The one common language was all the smiles! There certainly was no shortage of energy, effort or fun.
